Newsletter:: January 2008Happy New Year! Hopefully we will all have a successful 2008. We expanded our server network in December and now have IP addresses available in Texas. By mid year we will be branching our network into California. This is helpful if you are using a multiple-domain strategy to optimize your site for the search engines. Here are a few things to consider if you are thinking about a multiple-domain strategy.
We all have
experienced spam and we dislike it as much as you. It
clogs up our mail queue and somtimes holds up emails getting to your
inbox. We have installed a blacklist filter to stop domain names and
IP addresses that are known spammers. Unfortunately it does not stop
all spam since the bad guys are always moving to differernt IP addresses
and getting new domains.
We also
have Spamassassin software available for you to use on your mail
accounts. You can set a spam score setting through your control
panel. The lower the score number the less spam you will
receive. The only issue with setting a low score is the risk of
losing legit emails especially any newsletters you signed up
for.
You may also want
to login to your webmail account and set up your blacklist. As spam
arrives you can immediately put them on the list to be rejected if it
is sent again. This needs to be an ongoing exercise to work
best.
We can help
you lower your spam by doing a study of your incoming
mail. If this is a service you are interested in please email
me for more details.
If you are
sending out a mass email campaign to your customers or prospects here
are some helpful hints not to be viewed as spam.
